Dr. Danica Kyryllo
From engineering to medical devices to chiropractic, Dr. Danica has been on a journey towards better serving the world through her intelligence, compassion, and integrity.
The journey to patient impact
Once upon a time, Dr. Danica loved to build robots. She loved it so much, she went off to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto at 16 years old to learn how to do that professionally. Along the way, she discovered a passion for understanding how the human body works and combined that newfound passion with her interest in mechatronics engineering. She went on to get a Master of Health Science in Clinical Engineering degree completing a thesis relating to using virtual reality therapies in pediatric rehabilitation to improve neuroplasticity.
Along her education and career, she worked in the medical device industry in various capacities. It wasn’t until one day while supporting a cardiac surgery case that a physician pulled her aside and asked her why she wasn’t a doctor! It was like a lightbulb turned on in her heart!! She immediately knew she had been longing to be on the other side of that sterile field in all those surgeries and cardiac catheterization procedures, being the person that directly served patients in need with skilled manual interventions.
CHIRO CALLING: FROM ENGINEERING TO CHIROPRACTIC
Impacting patients and the field
Having grown up in her mother’s chiropractic clinic and receiving regular chiropractic adjustments from her first moments of life as a baby, through childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, chiropractic has always been a core aspect of Dr. Danica’s identity. As a child, there was always an innate sense of when she needed an adjustment and would climb onto the chiropractic table ready for her mom to check her. Having lived and worked through many other healthcare experiences and settings, Dr. Danica has never experienced anything as magical and natural as getting adjusted.
It is from her own experience being cared for as a child that has driven her passion for pediatric chiropractic care and family chiropractic care. And better yet, gaining a deeper understanding of the philosophy of chiropractic and learning about the latest chiropractic science has only fuelled Dr. Danica’s passion and drive to help as many kids and families as possible with chiropractic care. It has been a long journey, and Dr. Danica is so excited to serve you and help you see how chiropractic care can help you live your best life!
Outside the office
Dr. Danica loves enjoying an active lifestyle outside of the clinic. She has been dancing ballet since she was 3 years old and continues to attend classes weekly to feed her passion. She enjoys playing many recreational sports with friends including playing summer beach volleyball for the past 15 years and playing squash with her husband, Justin. She also loves traveling internationally and within Ontario and Canada as often as possible to experience new cultures, cuisines and the beauty of nature across this planet we call home. When she’s not off an adventure, she’s chilling at home with Justin and their two tabby cats.
